Morning – Departure & Mekong Cruise

Begin your day with a transfer from your hotel to the Mekong River. Board a traditional boat and cruise upstream, passing riverside villages, fishermen, and forested hills. The journey itself is an important part of the experience, offering a glimpse into daily life along the river.

Midday – Pak Ou Caves Exploration

Arrive at the Pak Ou Caves, a revered spiritual site set at the meeting point of the Mekong and Nam Ou rivers. Explore both the lower and upper caves, which house thousands of Buddha images left by pilgrims over centuries, and learn about their cultural and religious significance.

Lunch Break

Enjoy lunch at a local riverside restaurant or on board (depending on arrangement), with time to relax and take in the surroundings.

Afternoon – Village Visit & Return Journey

On the return journey, stop at Ban Xang Hai village to observe the traditional process of Lao rice whisky making. Depending on timing and preference, an additional stop at Ban Xang Khong may be included to see traditional paper-making and weaving. Continue cruising back to Luang Prabang, arriving in the late afternoon.
